The Lionesses take on China – Women's Exhibition International

Preamble

Hello and welcome to the friendly game between England and China at the iconic Wembley. This promises to be an exciting contest with the European Championship holders competing against the current Asian Cup champions.

England’s national stadium is fully booked for the occasion, which will see the celebrated Fran Kirby honored pre-match after her retirement from the national team before the Euro tournament this past summer.

Lineup details will be announced shortly, but there was a last minute squad update for England. On Friday, the goalkeeper Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a small issue, and so ex-first choice Ellie Roebuck has been added to the squad.

With Hannah Hampton out of action, it will be interesting to see who the Lionesses' coach Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. This information and additional developments are on the way before the start of the match at 5.30pm GMT.

Team News

The lineups have been announced. Anna Moorhouse starts in goal for England in the absence of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.

England's starting eleven: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.

Reserves: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.

Details are being sought for the squad from China now; when it comes through, I will post it.
