The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed game that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for delighting in action and madness with equal enthusiasm, all while telling engaging, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two creators whose creations have represented all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' structure by featuring a new setting and group of personalities in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we have no details on what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing trust and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style show. Each game is a variation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always examining the nature of people through this complex and turbulent lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, visionary style to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
